These paintings are done with duel processes and provide different images according to the light and dark viewing conditions. The bright visible painting is created with acrylic enamel paint which is poured and manipulated through gentle rocking of the canvas. The hidden image is created with luminescent paint applied by brush and fingers. This image is activated with daylight or artificial light becoming phosphorescent in the dark. The process is akin to decalcomania techniques used by the surrealist in the 1930s. For me, the paintings are a meditation on my inner and outer thoughts and emotions.
